My name’s Cole Wayne and I have a gay POV on life. This blog/newsletter is my attempt to speak to, write about, explore, and question sex, love, relationships, and queerness in the gay community. Subscribe for the laughs, the lessons through mistakes I’ve made, and for an honest look at my (and maybe your?) gay life. You can follow me on Instagram at @colewaynec.

I Don't Feel Pretty and Witty and Gay
There’s a familiar feeling I’ve felt in predominantly gay spaces. Namely, LA pool parties where Adonis men are strutting around in brightly colored speedos or warehouse parties where equally handsome men are strutting around in nothing but shorts, whisking each other away into the dark room. Have you felt it? It’s that sexual, hopeful …
What's your background?
Picture this: you’re swiping through attractive men on Grindr (for those who’ve never heard of it, it’s a gay dating app men use for “fun, friends, dates, whatever” with locals in their area) and get a jolt of joy when you hear the brrriipp of a message from a potential suitor.
You start chatting and sending pics, and without any context or lead-up, they ask you:
“What’s your background?”
Why a paid subscription?
If you’re new here, expect to receive a free post in your inbox every 1-2 weeks. After 2 weeks, those posts move behind a (modest) paywall, so if you want to read past issues or reread your favorite piece, please consider a monthly ‘donation’ of $5 per month, or annual subscription of $40 ($20 off!).
Contributing to my writing fund helps me continue to bring you gay content that makes you laugh, makes you cry, and ultimately (I hope) makes you feel seen. Consider supporting someone putting himself out there in all the wrong and right ways!
Still unconvinced? My ex told me “I’m Still Not Over Him” felt like reading a journal entry that should’ve been kept private. If that doesn’t entice you to pay $5 so you can read it too, I don’t know what will.
I’m Still Not Over Him
Or how I didn’t realize just how long it might take to fall out of love with someone.
